How the WEL Model Works
Pooled Capital
A local group of 30–50 women pool ≈ $6,000 each to create a combined fund of $150K–$300K.
Collaborative Process
Led by a volunteer Managing Partner team, members invest in 3–5 companies over 12 months.
Hands-on Experience
Guided by the WEL Playbook, members contribute to sourcing deal flow, conducting due diligence, and voting on investment decisions.
Investor Qualification
Members must meet applicable Accredited Investor or Self-Certified Investor criteria, where available.
No Previous Experience Required
We learn by doing and we start doing immediately
You’ll find teachers next to CEOs, and artists next to accountants. Two thirds or our LPs start as beginners to angel investing.

A Different Kind of Investment Experience
“What sets WEL apart from a typical VC investment opportunity is that it redefines the role of a Limited Partner. WEL asks its members to contribute and collaborate across the investment process, from sourcing deal flow and due diligence to the final investment decision. The diversity of perspectives strengthens the process, and everyone has a role to play, whether they are making their first angel investment or are a seasoned angel investor.”
